The surface of my water seems to be dirty and uncleanable. It looks like an oily layer of something. I know its nothing i've put into the tank myself because i wash my hands thoroughly (no soap) before putting my hands into the tank. I've made about a 30% water change in the past 2 days and its still there. It's brown in color. I currently have slimy brown algae because my PH and alkalinity levels went down dramatically last week and have been trying to improve them ever since. Any ideas on how i can get rid of this oily stuff and prevent it in the near future?
