I'm going to refrence this from now on. Whenever I go into my LFS I say, I'm looking for... hm... I can't remember, it's some type of clown fish, but I can't remember what it is... starts with an O I think... just so I don't sound like an idiot trying to pronounce it haha.

I believe ocellaris is pronounced "ah-sah-lah-ris" At least that's the only way I've ever heard it pronounced.

The preceding is a pretty simple guide that should get you "close" in terms of pronouncing binomial nomenclature.
Since I speak Spanish, which is derived from Latin, I have a bad habit of using "Spanish vowels" in the pronunciation of binomials. For instance, in Spanish, the letter "I" is pronounced as a long "E", however, in Latin it's pronounced as a long "I" (example: Hippocampus reidi ("reed-eye")...I used to call them "reed-ee").
I thought I had a better reference, but it may be at home on my laptop...I'll try to remember to check.
