The owner of Salt Water Connection was found guilty of 18 charges under the federal Wild Animal and Plant Protection and Regulation of International and Interprovincial Trade Act.
He will return to court early next year for sentencing, where he faces potential fines of more than $1 million plus the possibility of jail time.

I doubt it.....Very seriously people....He's not the first owner to run into quite a bit of trouble.....So I'm doubting very seriously you'll see the company go under or deep gouging cuts in prices......

There aren't many companies in the reffing business that can afford to take this kind of a hit. Anyone remember PFO lighting? Just the legal costs of fighting the patent suit bankrupted them. This guy has legal costs and now the fines. I'd be shocked if he survives but maybe. If he was making money he wouldn't have needed to break the law.

i dont know much about the species the owner of SWC was caught with but i thought it was something like 20,000#s of LR that wasnt legal was imported into canada and yes im suer he will get a nice fat ticket and a slap on the wrist!
Wheres my dang skimmer????

He was convicted on 17 counts. Don't know the specifics but his defense against the live rock they cracked him with was he was going to use it to build a fence LOL!

just wanted to update u guys and gals. I finally got my skimmer. It was sitting at the UPS warehouse forever! Anyways i picked it up and brought it home. BAM it was cracked! Iam not a happy camper to say the least. Anyways now i gotta get UPS to pick it back up and take it back so he can send me a new one! GRRRRR
also did i mention they are only open like 3 out of 7 days a week!
