I have this skimmer on my 125g because I could not have a sump with the kind of stand I have. Anyway, I started this yesterday and the venturi pump is very very loud. I know all HOB skimmers make some noise, but this is unreasonably loud. It makes a grinding noise that will not stop. The skimmer is pumping water thru just fine and making lots of froth, but the noise is too much. Do these pumps get quieter as they break in, or is this sound uncommon? Any advice, tricks I can do, help would be appreciated. I paid 450 dollars for this skimmer and would hate to have to get another one.
