Has anyone used one of those SWCD or Salt-Water-Current-Directors in their tank to move the water around? I want to have good water movement, but I don't want to use a wavemaker. I was curious about how long each outlet produces water, and does the unit last a while? I'm setting up my new tank this weekend, and if they work good, I planned on running my PVC under my sandbed, which would hide all the pipe.:notsure:

No I have not, I know there are a few on this board that use them though and from what I hear they are happy with them. I believe waterfaller has or had two SCWD's. I use the Red Sea wavemaker but when I upgrade tanks I will most likely be going with SeaSwirls.

I use a SCWD on my new 30g. Been running for 2months with a Mag 5 pushing water around. I havent had any problems with the setup. With the mag 5 it does about 11secs on each side.

We have one on our 300 via Mag 7, and it also switches about every 5 seconds or so.
The unit is very easy to use, but in our case, we are using too small of a pump for a tank of that size. We are intending on upgrading it. I believe the manual said it would take up to 1400 gph
