Sweeper Tentacles

How much room do you need to give corals with sweeper tentacles? Is 3-4 inches sufficiant? I can't find any info in any books that tells you exactly how long they get and whether its relative to the size of the coral, condition, feeding, etc.
Thanks for your help.

It all depends... although they can extend quite large... I suggest you ask for a specific coral(s)
and welcome!

So do you have a 10" space around your hammer? What can you put closer that won't be quite as affected by the sting?

The sweepers cannot go against the water current so I have the hammer of the far left side with the water flowing toward the left. That way it can't sting anything.
You can usually place closely related corals together - Hammer, Frogspawn, and Torch usually do well together. You should still watch them closely
