sweetlips

I got coerced into an oriental sweetlips recently but a fish store owner with bad advice. I've purchased copepods to keep him eating regularly, he won't eat sinking pellets. Otherwise I feed him the occasional brine shrimp.
Its been three weeks and he's still alive, but I've been paying close attention to him. I will have to trade him out when he gets to be about 4 or 5 inches cause I only have a 24 gallon nano.
Still wouldn't recomend, but thats my story so far with him

As stated on WWM, these fish have specific diet needs that we can't provide in a fish tank. So even if you get them to eat, they won't live long in captivity.

IMO, there some commonly available fish that just don't belong in home tanks; sweetlips are near the top of this list. Spotted sweetlips, probably the most common, can reach over 2 feet and they grow very fast....if you can get them eating. Unlike some big fish that can be traded, these fish will outgrow most tanks quickly and become so ugly nobody wants them. IMO, dealers shouldn't even sell these, most are doomed.
