swelled belly clown trigger

I have a small baby clown trigger that i could not resist buying for only $20.00 at lfs. I've had a medium clown that has always done well but the babies I've bought always with in a couple of weeks get a swelled belly that is not due to overfeeding. Is their livers swelling or what? The one I have now is going quickly. Anything I can do to save it? It is about the size of a nickel.

Not sure exactly the reason but most baby clown triggers do not do well. Its best to buy them when they are older. Juts my .02

I know my older one has always done well. Just wondering if anyone has ever cured this. I knew going in it was a risk. The same happened to others I tried.

The baby clown triggers have a very high mortality rate due to the method of capture from the wild. The fishermen use cyanide to catch them and for some reason it takes a while before they kick the bucket. You could be right with the liver thing.

Also could be internal parasites, Baby Clown Triggers like already stated in this post do very poorly. What size tank do you have? A Clown Trigger will ultamately need a 150 gallon tank or larger and can be peaceful at first but become a you know what overnight. Yes they are cute when they're small but they are an extremely aggressive fish and a bad choice for most tanks.
