In 2000 Bush wasn't my first choice but with his record of working with both sides in Texas it was a vote for him to be sure. Second time it was as much a vote against Kerry as for Bush.

LoL, well, I can't take full credit for that - the phrase was born of the South Park TV series during the Bush/Kerry elections... but I think it applies now as well.

Well, I never did like McCain much and don't trust Obama AT ALL so I'll just deal with the dork you kids elect and keep my mouth shut for 4 years. By then a viable candidate is bound to emerge. (I hope)

That's what I said 4 years ago, and 4 years before that.

Besides being too liberal for my taste his lies about widespread attrocities by US soldiers during the Vietnam war makes him unfit to hold any office in this country as far as I am concerned.

You don't "like" McCain and you don't "trust" Obama.
I think you should vote just based on what you wrote there.

I would vote for Obama although I do not like all of his views and he is maybe wishy washy and all that. The reason is simply because if anything changes it has to be better than how it is going now. I don't care what Obama changes as long as it is something that betters our country, economy, etc....I think McCain will stick to what Bush has been doing (he can't do much worse) the entire term of his office. Either way I don't think we can do worse.
This is just my opinion but to be honest I don't vote. Surprising I know since I have strong opinions but I really don't believe that our votes get counted unless they don't have the electoral college majority.

Don't want Obama, he sounds like a used car salesman and flip flops and tells everyone what they want to hear. McCain, I'm not crazy about, but he has experience wheather it be good or bad. I'm just afraid Obama will be lost if he wins. Who ever wins get the damn economy back in shape.

Nothing is really going to change unless there is a change in the Congress. Neither Obama or McCain is going to get elected with any kind of mandate, the election will be too close. Until someone can gain enough support to have a landslide kinda win a president isn't going to change much.
Until people quit sending the same group of idiots back to DC year after year nothing is going to change.

I was just thinking how easily people believe slogans...

My brother has his own construction co and the title is "Precision Construction" and his slogan is something like "When the best is still not enough"...
People actually READ those things?, lol

Are you saying I should vote Libertarian?

Nah, I was saying between like and trust, I'd go with voting for who I don't like.
I hated my teachers, my drill sgts, sometimes felt that way about my folks (growing up), etc... But I always trusted em.
