The Golden Tiger Blenny, Escenius sp., has striking white and orange/tan striping patterns which lend its name of "tiger". This blenny is best kept in tanks with plenty of live rock providing hiding places and a tank with a tightly sealed lid to prevent escapes. This Blenny will grow to be 5 inches, and should be kept in a tank no less than 30 gallons. The Golden Tiger Blenny primarily feeds on algae deposits in the tank and is a great choice for algae control. If algae is scarce, the Golden Tiger Blenny may nip on stony corals and clam mantles so this should be monitored. The Golden Tiger Blenny is a herbivore, and should be fed a variety of vegetable matter and algae supplements. Overall, you cannot go wrong with the Golden Tiger Blenny as it is a peaceful species that can be housed with any other peaceful fish. They will thrive in a temperature range of 72-78°F and a pH of 8.1-8.4.
