SWF or LFS?

Ok, is ANYONE buying fish from a LFS any more? :notsure: Unless I just fall in love with something (like the weimereiner recently), I'll just buy it on line for 1/2 the price!

This site really kicks butt! I'm not just kissing a$$, but I don't know if I'll ever buy another fish at a store again!
Thanks SWF!

They both have benefits but I like to see my new additions in person. I have ordered from SWF and everthing was great.

I'm shocked, astonished and blown away! Although you can't see the fish, you know what you're getting and it'll be delivered to the doorstep!
I'm baffled . . . :notsure:

SWF is my vote because the livestock at my lfs is crappy most of the time and tanks aren't always kept in the best condition IMO or at least I am not that impressed with them anyway. I have ordered most of my livestock from SWF and everything is better than I could have hoped for when it arrives! And besides my Fed Ex delivery person makes the delivery fun since they like to see what I have ordered! hehe

I guess in that case it really depends on how you LFS treats the animals. I believe most of the LFS near me treat their fish very well.

im split although swf has been super and have no complaints there is the fun of not knowing what you want until you get to the store and finding the perfect addition. then you know exactly what your getting and no shipping risks. but on the other hand swf took great care of me when i bought a pair of gobies that were doa. i like both for different reasons plus i have four good shops to choose from within one hour as well

I also agree that both have thier benefits. I HAVE had excellent results with SWF so far but I also prefer to "hand pick" my livestock at my LFS whenever possible. I guess I am lucky to have a pretty decent LFS in my area.

i vote SWF.com cause although i can hand pick from my LFS, they dont have that many too choose from and they both are WAY too expensive! $40 for a marble star?! $60 for a flame angel?! i dont think so, i will stick to here, unless i find something i cannot refuse!

i voted SWF everything i have got has been excellent. not to mention i dont have a "close" LFS at least 40 min to the closest one. which isn't really that bad, but i have transportation issues also. the one down the road only carries FW:rolleyes:
i had a weimereiner! the most loveable, stupidest dog ever!

this is Clyde, in the divorce i got the dalmation and got the weimeriner, which he shortly there after dumped on the road in the country somewhere

sorry to get off topic

Definatly SWF. I have to drive over an hour to get to an "LFS" that has decent selection and no ich on the fish.Out of all the items I have ordered from SWF I have had 1 shrimp DOA. Amazing and the quality has been better than expected.

I vote swf. Although it is not always easy to come up with the $75, it is well worth it for the $ you save. My lfs wants about double the price of swf!

Hi, I vote swf definately! :happyfish Worse comes to worse and you have to pay 30$ for shipping, you still get a way better deal, as long as you buy a couple fish. And you get a live guarantee. I wish I wasn't such a chicken@$& when I was starting out in reefkeeping about buying online and risks. The only things I buy from my LFS are last minute stuff or mislabeled stuff that you can't find on the net. Most of the time pet stores don't know what it is so they sell it for the closest thing, but you know and you get a killer deal. Thats what's great about being an experienced reefkeeper.:happyfish
