SWF Order coming tomorrow/Quesion..

Hi,
My SWF order will arrive in the morning.. Question...
I got a 6 line wrasse, I am sure he will be small..
I just did water changes in both my 15H and 8G BF QT tanks.. they are both established and just sit and run, in case I need them...
Like Now..LOLOL
Can I put the wrasse in the 15H.. right now it has a small picasso trigger in it OR put him in my 8 gallon BF by himself? The 8 G doesnt have anything but a few rocks and a plant in it.
Also, I got some shaving brushes too... I can just acclimate them to my 75G? They wont carry anything I should be careful of??
I got them for my tang to munch on and help my trates...
Thanks......Kim

I would put them in the QT tank, afterall that is what it is for. Even the shaving brush can bring things into the system, at least keep them in there for a week or so for observation. Monitor ammonia level in QT tank after adding to it, especially if you don't keep a small fish in it at all times to keep the cycle going. If the 15 and 8 gal is not needed, think about teardown, why have more tank than you use.

just put the shaving brushes in the main tank, they will be fine, as long as the water is fine.
I agree with putting the wrasse into the 8 gallon.

Thanks guys.....
will put him in the 8...Thats what I was hoping you'd say.. I keep them going with a mollie in there.. the water perameters are all good!
Conundrum.. first, love the name..:) I keep them going all the time, i would hate to have to set them up and cycle them again if I had a problem....
I think people who use a qt (WHICH SHOULD BE EVERYONE) should keep it set up somewhere out of the wy.. Mine is in the kitchen, I keep some rock and decorations in there so its NOT an eyesore -)... I plan on making it a nano reef when I am done stocking my main tank...... Tricky huh?? Hubby didnt think of THAT!
,;) ;)
Should I hypo him just in case or wait to see if he shows signs of anything? I never ordered online from SWF before for fish.. I am a bit concerned about what he may come with!
Thanking you all kindly, Kim
( Waiting for my 6 line wrasse to complete my tank)

I wouldn't use hypo-salinity treatment on your new wrasse. Just put him in the 8 gallon QT after the acclimation period that will come documented from SWF.com., for your convenience :)
The hypo is unnecessary at this point and could cause even more stress in the little guy.

If I may ask....what do you intend to do with the trigger? Just my opinion, but a 15 is so small, that I wouldn't use it for a QT tank. The tank is so small, it actually may cause the stress that starts the disease outbreak you are watching for and trying to avoid.

I had shaving brush in my tank, what a mistake! they looked good for a couple of weeks then started to foul the tank and eventually i had to throw them out! i won't make that mistake again no matter how good they may look!

That was also my experience...BIG mistake

Sammy,

we never had bad luck with shaving bruxshes, and they lasted quite a while, with the yellow tang, but eventually she finished them off
with 5, it took her a few months

Geez,
I wonder why they ell them then? What do you mean foul?? Smelled or just shed all over?? I kind of want to get them out now>?? Maybe put them in a fuge??

I also had very good luck with shaving brushes......but, my foxface tore them to pieces when I bought him. Well, I guess I can't claim total succes because they were only about five months old, but they did look very healthy...not much growth though in five months. I didn't particularly want him to eat them, but he did take a liking, and after I just had a stalk there looking dumb, they were pulled. I don't have any "tangs", so I don't know about them.
