These are spirorbidae (sp?) worms and they are beneficial filter feeders...

I have these little guys all over in my 55. Haven't seen them magnified like your pics!!! I just thought they were barnacles or some sort of crustacean. Great pics T!!!

those are spironoid (sp?) tube worms. harmless filter feeders. alot are a sign of excess nutrients but you dont seem to have that many. they also tend to set up shop in low flow areas like low flow sump chambers.
