Ok. What I would do is shut off the pump and let the water overflow into the sump until it doesnt overflow nemore. Then take off your overflow. Run your pump until your waterline reaches the bottom of the black molding on top of your tank. Shut off the pump. Make sure it isnt sucking water back down into the sump again. Then there should be the smallest amount of water left in the sump possible. Take out the sump and all equipment. Put the refugium under your tank and add the sand and chaeto. Place your pump in as well as any equipment you want in the sump. Reconnect your overflow and let it overflow all the excess water into the fuge. Then, make new salt water to fill the fuge up the rest of the way. Start the pump and you are all set.

Well, I when I switched from the store bought refugium to the one I built because the one from the lfs was too small, I was trying to slide the whole unit and I broke the top part of the magdrive. 950 GPH was squirting me in the face until I was able to hit the power switch. As long as you take your time and think about every move before you make it, you shouldnt have TOO many problems. A surprise here and there is guarenteed lol.
