switching to a different tank?

what is the best way to move a reef system to a different tank? should i transport the water from the old tank to the new tank? any ideas, im planning on moving my reef system to a bigger tank.

this may be the link waterfaller was talking about article, though that is not exactly what you meant, but there is some useful info reguardless. Other than that, a search limited to this forumn will give loads of info, just have to sort through it. I am still figuring out how I want to go about it, so I dont have any straight forward sound advice. HTH

You definetly want to transfer your old water, and if you are going to a significantly larger tank you may want to mix your new water and do some water changes on your old tank, then add the water you removed to the new water. This will get all of your water at close to the same parameters. We just upgraded our tank and that process worked well for us ( we lost nothing).
