T-5's or No T-5's

So I'm trying to decide between two different fixtures.
Basically the price difference is 200 dollars.
The two fixtures is an outerorbit HQI fixture with 2x150 watt mh, 2 t-5s and moonlight leds
Or a sunpod wih 2x 150 mh and moonlights.
I really like the outer orbit, but now I'm wondering what could possibly be the 200 dollar benifit for the t-5s...
What do you think?

150 watt halides don't have a lot of punch, expecially if you use higher K lamps. With the T5's you can use a couple blue plus lamps and get a really nice look using the 10K halides plus you have a nice dusk/dawn effect. As a bonus the Blue T5's have pretty good PAR output.

I went from CP to T-5 the Nove Extreme Pro it is so nice but I don't have MH .. If you can afford it I would go with the T-5s also, hey the more light the better. Also most people or at least some local aquarium shops say MHs drain the color from what they have so with the T-5s it will put back some or all of the color.

But 2 150's should be plenty for a 36x18 and 21 inch tall tank, for anything I'd want to put in there reef wise right?

With 10K lamps yes if the reflectors are worth a dam. 14K Phoenix lamps would probably be OK too although I am just assuming their output is as good as the 250 watt versions.

Is that a 40 gallon tank? That should be plenty is the reflectors are good. I have a single 150watt sunlight supply reef optix over my 29 gallon and its a lot of light. I might look into some of the sunlight supply pendants like the lumanmax or the reef optix.

I agree like I said the MH drains some color from corals but the T-5 helps and increases coral growth, color, and makes it happy

Microprocessor based driving system - 15% more light output
SlimPaq T5HO enhanced with high lumen output lamps and Powerwrap reflectors to pump up the light output
LED panels provide both blue & white lunar lighting
Internal electronic driving system - no remote ballasts and fan cooled for maximum thermal efficiency
Screaming Performance
The PowerPaq 10,000K HQI metal halide will make your corals thrive with stunning intensity and awesome color rendition. Packed with lumens, the 10,000K provides the natural shimmering effect found on coral reefs. Coupled with a highly efficient electronic driving system and SlimPaq T5 high output lamps, the Outer Orbit HQI/T5 produces more lumens per watt than any other comparable system - hands up!

Phoenix is a brand name. They make a killer 14K halide in the 250 watt version.
One thing about the current lamps, the blues look nice but the PAR output is not very good compared to others. Dunno how their halides stack up.

So you don't think the slimpac mh's are any good?
