T316's perverted cat

T3 is having a tough time starting a new thread so I thought I would help him out. Here is his situation
So, my cat question goes here.....Is it normal for mom/son to be doing it? This is really gross, and very difficult to explain to the kiddos. Son has grown to twice the size of mom, and he is having his way. Is this normal, or just a wacked out cat....? Mom is fixed btw, as many of you know from my "visit to the vet" thread, but jr is not.
I have my own thoughts, but it will be so much more amusing for me to read what you all write.

It's perfectly naturally for all mammals to do this.
Whoa, wait! What is he doing? Fix him. Hopefully that cut-off of testosterone will calm his urges. Do you have other cats or is she the only one? If he is choosing her, then there is something seriously wrong with him.

LOL, I'm with Meowzer, it's time for a good cat fixing story again. Although the last one ended with damage to my laptop from spitting out my morning coffee.
Did you cat recently read Oedipus?

Oh Wow...you guys are crackin' me up. I wish I could find the smilelys, but oh well.....
Thanks Scott for the thread. This new site setup has got me all messed up. I still can't start threads, can't search back and find old threads, etc.
I'm sure they will work the bugs out, but thanks for getting this one going.
So, the topic is serious business here people.....We are talking Taboo here. This ain't right.
Pez...no, there are no other cats at my house, (NOR WILL THERE EVER BE). So it's not like he is "choosing" his mom, but rather......maybe there's not many other choices out there other than a hole in a tree stump.
As far as getting him fixed......FORGET IT PEOPLE !!!! I agreed with wifey to handle the first cat (mom), but if you read my experience with that, then you know that I pledged to never do that again. So out of the question.

Going back to the vet is out of the question, but I am considering the "rubberband method".

Yes, I said that. I remember growing up on a farm, we used to put these little bands on the steers while they were still young. It didn't seem to hurt them, but then again, I didn't ask. But they just fell off in time....problem solved.
And No.....I'm not going to try it. I'm already "fixed" anyway

So basically you have 1ncest going on under your roof. Hmmmm...this is a HUGE problem. Has so many reprecussions involved. Your children could grow up messed up and believe 1nsest to be a normal occurance.
It's an animal, they do this naturally in the wild even. relax.

I'm not sure about cats, but humans are programmed to find their relatives unattractive regardless of whether they have met before or not. Last year I remember reading an article about a test that was done on this matter. A variety of men worked out in brand new clothes. Once they were full of sweat, the clothes were collected. Then a panel of women (who happened to be related to some of the men) smelled these clothes. I think they recorded which ones smelled best and which ones smelled the worst. Their results were consistent. The pheromones in the sweat of a relative don't attract women.
I would have to assume that cats have the same thing going on. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure something would prevent insest* among felines. That's just natural selection.
*I know it's spelled with a C
I know that sickly cats can be the result of inbreeding, but maybe the cats don't have any problems with insest.
