T5 Advice

I come to a conclusion that I am going to get a current USA nova extreme 6x54 w/ lunar lights. Any pros and cons on this unit will be helpful. My main question is the manufacture has an auction site store and sells their refurbished like new units at a great price. I have bought refurbished computer stuff before and always had the feeling the kinks were worked out in the process. Again any help would be greatful.
I was also looking at the GLO T5 2x54 small enclosed ballast with endcaps. 41.00 buck from mr foster is a steal. My LFS says he had them on a tank in his store and hasn't had a problem. Again any help.

Don't get the GLO, that is a POS.
the current usa nova extreme pro is fine. On a refurb I dunno if the bulbs are new..
About the only thing better than that fixture is gonna be ATI powermodules and they're REALLY expensive.

i wont buy a refer. Nova cuz i had one and they dont/didnt come with a warrenty and mine only lasted 6 months. something burned out in the light itself. so now im forced to buy a new one. i got mine for the *bay site they had. i called them and they said with it being refer. unit that there is no warrenty. i did send it in for repair and they wanted $250.00 for the repair. and a new one is almost the same. so i told them no. i would buy it new if you got the money. they are nice fixtures if they work(new w/warrenty)

You serious? I heard a few horror stories about teks.. are their reflectors any good?

IMO stay away from the stuff on the auction site.
If you're on a tight budget then the Nova PRO would be a decent fixture. If you don't mind spending at little more then the TEKS are pretty good, and Aquactinics are even better.

Really? I mean the TEK isn't the best fixture out there, but they are pretty well-made and perform well if you add a fan. As of now Icecap and Aquactinics reflectors are the best in the market.
