anyone have a reef under t5s if ud like will you post pics to see how well spc and other corals do ?
im starting one just curious how well they do under t5s

You can use T5's for a reef as long as they have enough wattage and watch your colors. You won't get the nice shimmer of a MH though
The shimmer effect, IMO is only worth it if you have an open tank. I know several people who had MH and switch to T5's cause the MH has doing more harm than good to their coral
I have a 75 reef tank running one Icecap 660 with 4-4ft t5, and one Icecap 440 running 2-4ft t5 bulbs, I dont have any SPS corals but have lots of others. The clam also does great under these lights. Here is a picture for you to check out.
I have never seen MH lights do any damage to a coral unless they were hung to close to the tank and there were corals up high. My new tank is open top and I would not want anything else over it.

Couldn't agree more. My MH fixture is above my open tank, and I wouldn't want any other lights, either. If you can go with the MHs then go for it. If not, then T5s should be fine for most coral
