T8 lighting

Has anyone used or ir is anyone familar with T 8 lighting . I was told it was actually brighter than Halides and costs alot less to operate also fixture are about half the price any feed back is welcomed

Yeah I was thinking about that when I was in the lighting section at Lowes today buying some egg crate. Problem I guess is finding the right bulbs and allot of those fixtures I think run a ballast that only does about 36w a bulb.
I wonder if anyone is doing it.

supposedly the t 8 s run at 120 percent of ballast and bulb wattaage rating not sure looking for info
