WOW!! Now that is a fish. I have pulled some decent size cats from the lakes around here, but that guy must have been using a sea pole with cable!

That fish is beautiful....It's Ole' Grand Dad!!!!
I have to say, it is kind of ashame to take it now. I'm sure that fish has lived for a long time to get that big...either that, or there is a nuclear power plant nearby...:)

I`m pretty sure that ole monster got put back into the lake, so don`t freak out. I`ll find out the details later, weight, height, how did he catch it, etc.

It looks like the guy is sitting down with the fish on his lap. I really hope it was put back, the poor old fishy.:(

I agree. I sure hope that fish was put back, because that is a very rare fish that I've seen.
Also, I wanted to know, how did he reel him out? Did he use a telephone pole or something? Cuz that is one big fish!

omg people, get a life, the fish was put back into the lake. Just found out it weighs 125 and measures 68", this guy actually caught this thing on a trout line!!

I just checked with my compatibility chart. I am pretty sure he would not be an appropriate match for the 50gal reef tank.

I just saw this thread and I was going to say it was probably caught on a trot/jug line. They usually are at that size. Also, yes it is very unusual to actually catch one that big, but it is not that unusual in that part of the country for them to be that big. They probably drug him on the line with whatever boat they were using to check their tot/jug line, drug it up on the bank, took the pic and drug it back to the lake. Around here the lakes that have catfish that big, they are usually laying on the bottom, in deep water near the dam of the lake, or a deep hole area near a shore. Must have been using a really strong trot line for it not to have broken it. Very nice catch. I used to run trot lines with my dad when I was a kid, but as an adult I really don't like them at all. IMO it is a lazy way to fish, no sport to it, and really junks up a lake seeing all those jugs floating around and thinking about all the lost lines and hooks on the bottom of the lake. A lot of people do it though. Was that fish caught here in Oklahoma? Do you know which lake?
