TAKE A LOOK (WHAT DO YOU THINK?)

DINHOUSE,
I would say you did a great job. I have seen tanks that where in bad shape and volunteered to get them correct and help them do the right thing as far as giving them some direction. Then if they didn't want to maintain the tank I would refer them to someone that would "for a price". I hate to see a tank in bad shape.

Hey i think the tank looks really nice....but i do agree with the people who say to get rid of the bubbles....they do do harm to corals if caught...i just finished the robert fenner book...the consciencious marine aquarist...and he does not promote air bubbles for aeration....and neither do i

just make sure the bubbles can't get in between the rocks either. air trapped under the rocks is not a good thing. i can't tell you why in scientific terms, but i would avoid it. if they are completely separated from the rock bed you could get away with it. just don't put the airstones under the rocks. imo. =)

I got a tip for you to change her mind on the air bubbles
get some water from the tank and drip it on the top part of the aquarium, light where it can be easy to wipe off (not much) let it seat and build salt creep.
show it to her and say this is how it's gonna look like under the glass top. Also you can point to her the long process of cleaning the glass top. And say you have to clean the glass top every week instead of every month ya da ya da ada...
the setup is nice

"KRUSK" That is a great idea but I am not sure that would work. I am not sure but I have a hunch that here 11 year old son is incharge of the glass cleaning. I will defintaly try that the next time I am down there.

I agree with BYRSELF. If you don't put the bubbles under the rocks or corals then the bubbles hurt nothing. As far as to much air in the tank, the bubbles really don't put that much air in the tank, they just move water and create surface agitation. It sounds like she just likes the look and if maintanance is no problem then keep the bubbles and enjoy the look.
