taking apart a complete hood

I have a complete hood lighting system which has 4 36watt pc actinic lights and 1 150 watt mh. I want to get a canopy and add more lights. Is this possible, can you take apart these hoods. the ballest is sperate. If not i can mount in canopy which would be 48-50" long and the hood is only 43" long could i add another mh to that? It is made by a guy in LA. not like a mass produced. What should it be if I can take it apart?

i took my csl 2x55 watt pc hood apart and mounted it to my hood. i know nothing about electricity, but it was pretty simple. i just made sure i attatched each wire exactly the same way it was before.

Small world. Jack I am asking the same question. I have a 48" JBJ Formosa 4x65w PC, and want to take it apart and use it in a canopy if I can.
