How does one take a good close up pic of instide the tank? Do I just need a camera with a bigger/better zoom?

use the macro setting if you have it on your camera, and dont use the viewfinder(lcd) to take pictures
i get close to the tank and angle the camera about 20degres and take a ton of pics and see which ones are good

Good question, I was wondering the same thing. Mine always have a glare. Thanks for the info.
Good luck ninjamini

try not to use the flash, but if you do angeling the camera helps take away the glare of the flash

I do the same, but also use a tripod. On my camera's macro setting the shutter speed is too slow to hold it steady.
Good luck!
