taller or longer????????????

I plan on getting about 100g tank. What would be better, a tall tank or a long, not so tall, tank???????

Longer - better light penetration and more aquascaping possibilities.

Like Bray said longer is better. Most fish like tangs and wrasses will do alot of swimming back and forth.

I would go longer then taller. Long in length and short in height. My 90g show tank was way too tall, couldn't touch the sandbed well enough.

Agree with the others, longer is better than taller. Another consideration however is width - when aquascaping more width is also better IMO/E.

Important point.
Make sure you have a tank you're comfortable reaching the very back corner of.

If i were to go custom. I wouldnt have it taller than 20 inches. Long and wide as I can get

I believe that it depends what kind of setup you would like to have and what kind of fish you plan on keeping...
