Tang Compatibility

I have a powder brown tang , can I add an orange shoulder tang ? I have a 125 gallon tank.
Does anyone have a brown tang and orange shoulder tang in the same tank ?

I think that tangs are always agressive towards each other. The best scenaro would be to have added them both at the same time but you can try and rearrange the rock or decor in the tank to offset the territory issues the original tang already has.

I used to have a very large powder brown and a 4 inch orange shoulder together with no problems. They are both Acanthurus, but are different shapes, on a side note i have 5 tangs together with no problems.

Right now in my 150 I have a Powder Blue a pair of Yellows a Red Sea Sailfin Blue Hippo and a Naso Tang. The only ones that do show anything like aggression are the Yellows and they have always BEEN tankmates even at the LFS.

mostly, only tangs of the same family and body type are aggressive towards one another, not all.... Though there is the odd case of a fish that is just cranky and mean to everyone no matter what species, lol.
