I currently have a 5+" hippo and a 3.5" purple tang in a 280g tank. After I move my crosshatch triggers out of the tank they will be the only larger fish in the tank. Would a black tang be an ok addition or would there be too much aggression with the other tangs?
Your tank is large enough that you probably can get away with it. How aggressive is your Purple Tang? Hopefully it's like mine and a completely whimp....
BTW, I'm assuming you mean a Zebramsoma sp when you say Black Tang.
yes your correct with the zebramsoma, and my purple tang is definitely not the dominant tang in the tank the hippo runs his life lol. So hopefully the hippo will keep him in check
