Well I have read contradicting things about a few Acanthrus Tangs. So I would like to get some personal experiences with these tangs.
OrangeShoulder Tang
Powder Brown Tang (Acanthrus Japonicus)
Lemonpeel Mimic Tang
Atlantic Blue Tang
Ringtail Tang (Acanthrus Blochii)
Thanks
Heath

Any fish can introduce ich to your display if not properly quarantined not just tangs.they are just more suceptable to the disease

Well, I have kept an Atlantic Blue tang now for over 3 years
with much success.
Though somewhat aggressive toward tangs with the same body shape, I have a Kole tang, and they do quarrel from time to time, but nothing to worry about.
This variety of tang is supposed to be problematic, with both
housing and diseases, but I have found no problems with
mine.
Diet is not a challenge, it will forage all day on your rock work and glass and loves everything I feed the tank as well.
I vary the diet with spirulina, mysis shrimp, noori and a home made blend of shrimp, clams and mussels.
The Acanthrus tangs do pose more of a challenge then their cousins, but only as far as aggression and size, you do need larger tanks to house some of these varieties.
The mimic tang is another good choice along with the Atlantic blue, since they do not get quite as large as the others. Though I wouldn't mix these two.
The powder brown and orange shoulder tangs have been known to cause more problems housing, and often more prone to disease and refusal to eat.
All fish you bring home should be quarantined before adding to your main tank, to prevent the spread of ich or diseases.
Good luck.

Do you have pictures from when you got it to today? I would like to see the transformation of one in captive care and see if it is still something I am interested in?

I don't think any of those are rediculosly difficult to keep, but tangs in general are usually more prone to Ick. Acanthurus are also some of the more aggressive tangs, so you might run into aggression issues if you kept multiple ones depending on tank size.

I am only thinking of keeping 1 from that list so multiples of Acanthrus wont be a problem. The only other tangs in the tank are Vlamingi and Striated Tang.
