Tang Hiding?

I have a Purple Tang that has been out of QT and in my main tank for two weeks. Since he has been in my main tank he seems to be hiding a lot unless i come up to the tank. He goes between both ends of the tank, but hides at each end in the rocks unless I have a vegi clip in for feeding. He always seems to travel in places where he is less likely to be viewed. I was wondering if Purple Tangs have a tendency to be shy? I don't have any clue why he would be hiding. Tank mates are a two clownfish, a cleaner shrimp, and an emerald green crab. Any clues as to why he might be hiding so much.

NM, are there any other possibilities; disease, bacterial infection (what are the symptoms?), etc. that could be ailing this fish that makes him act this way. I just wonder becuase I did not think nor have I seen a Purple Tang act this way. Are they more shy or not? He eats excellent so I've pretty much ruled that out disease, but you can never be too sure. He just got over a bout with ich. He appears healthy.
