Tang rebounded, but am i in the clear?

I bought a yellow tang (about 3 1/2 inches) from the local shop, and he looked healthy, and i got him home with no problems. I went to a super bowl party(go colts!), and when i came back, he was very pale with white spots, although he was acting normal. im not familiar with ich or any disease for that matter, but after that night he got better, the spots went away, and his color is back...
is the sickness my tang had serious, will it reappear in my tank, and if so what action do i need to take

I am not a "you gotta have a 6 foot tank to keep a tang" guy - but you have too small of a tank for that tang. :-( If you are still using the nano.
Tangs are tough sometimes - too many factors can upset the apple cart - stress - water quality - change of venue - etc.
A tang could get it's color back after being put in a small tank - but it's long term health could be questionable.

Please give us some more info. What size tank is he in? What are your exact water parameters. Was he eating at the lfs? If so, what were they feeding him?

His profile says 12g . . . if that's where the tang is, crikey!
