I've been thinking of getting a 125 gallon tank. How many tangs can you put in a 125? What types of tangs?

Well it depends I guess.
What kind of tangs and when you put them in. What were you thinking of doing? That would be easier to address than all the possibilities.
In my 125 aggressive tank I have two tangs. A 6 "naso and a 5"sailfin. The sailfin was in first and then the nasa. Never a problem and they're the best of buddy's.

Hi,
I know of a guy that has all tangs species in one tank. How does he do it? I don't know how do they stay alive? I don't know. But he wants to collect all species of tangs in one 75gl Tank! Can you believe that? WOW!
Well, I have a 125gl (still cycling) tank measuring 6 feet long. I’m planning on putting two Yellow, two hippo tang and that’s it. Powder blue might be a choice I may have to think about. Sailfin Tang grows too large ( 15” ) and will limit any addition to your tank.
I would go with four tangs of the same species or two and two, No more. Add smaller fishes that will give colors to your tank and won’t grow no more than 3” – 4 “.
Add two false perculas if you want.
It’s all up to you what you want to add and how many. But, don’t over crowd your tank. They will get sick because of stress.
