i have a small yellow tang in my 75.Hes doing ok.But am setting up a 180.If u can go bigger do it now.it will save u money.Everything I have read on here about tangs, says go bigger, atleast a125 long.they need long tanks to swim.My tang doesnt go up and down very much.He miss alot of food because of this.all the other fish get it all.they r up and downers.thats what i see and read.

I agree, go big as you can now, if you want tangs. IMO a 6ft tank with lots of rocks/caves but still open for fast swimming seems to be working for me..... good luck :happyfish

As far as I know, all tang species grow larger than 5 inches....if they live long enough....

I've got 2 yellows in my 125 and they are in constant motion. Zipping from one end of the tank to the other, in and out of the caves. I don't even stack rock against the back of the tank so as to allow them to race behind the rock also. They crack me up watching them. Need plenty of room - plus they are huge.

smallest is kole tang which is 7.5 inches, and you could have ONE, and that would be all the tangs in your tank.
