you def have to get your tang eating algae based foods as for green nori dont worry him not eating it it doesnt contain essencial nutrient vital for its health.if feeding nori its best to use the red variety(tip given to me personally by the head biolegist of the toledo zoo aquarium exibits).try adding a variety of algae based frozen foods such as emerald entrese, formula 2 or other foods formulated for hebivores. if feeding algae sheets as part of a diet I tear it up into smaller portioned and soak in garlic extreme and selcon for added nutrient. I use red green and brown vareity(seawead selects)
Drewsta
I have a Sailfin and a Scopus tang both are eating pellet food and hair algea (uh hum) I purchased algea sheets from the LFS today and I put them in the aquarium with a suction clip and the fish wouldn't touch it.. Are they scared? Any info on how you get your tangs to eat algea sheets would be hepful....
if they have hair algae to be eaten thats much better for them than the dried algae sheets fresh algae is always better .as mentioned above using a variety of frozen prepaired hebivore foods with added vit will keep your tangs in much better health tangs and all herbivores reqyire a 75% plant and algae based diet 25% meaty for protien(which they do love) too much protien will cause intestinal problems in these types of fish
I also feed my fish thera+A non medicated antiparesitic formula pellets 2 times per day to ensure proper vit and nutrients are given thye are more complete than most other types of foods I have found. also adding garlic extreme and selcon in the food daily will also give extra added nutrients(selcon also great for inverts)
herbivores also do best when fed multipal feeding per day recomended amounts are 3-5 times per day depending on the size of the species(tangs will poop whether you feed them or not)
