can i have a hippo tang and a yellow eyed tang in the same tank?? i have a 75 fowlr..... also, what do i feed tangs??

I don't know about having them all in the same tank,, but i do know what you should feed them. I feed my yellow tank frozen or live brine shrimp,,, i also give him a peice of algea strips every other day. they are great fish and he is one of my favorite fish in my tank, i could watch him all day ***) ***)

I have a 75 gallon with both a Yelllow Tang and Blue Hippo Tang. The yellow tang was in first and established to the tank. I looked for a Blue Hippo the same size to avoid any confrontations due to size differences. I also added live rock to have another hiding place for the Blue Hippo. The Yellow Tang was stressed at first with the additon of the Hippo Blue (and flame angel). It tookm awhile, but the yellow is now fine with the Blue.
I now do not have any problems with both in the same tank.
However, within 1 hour of adding the Blue Hippo, it developed Ich. I then added cleaner shrimp and give garlic in the food twice a week. This seems to help control the ich. It does appear every so often, but goes away quickly

I am in the same boat as curtis. Except I had a hippo tang for about 6 months + and added a large yellow tank and a large swallowtail angel. No problems even from the beginning. I personally think it's not a bad thing unless they aren't getting fed well, but if you feed them and keep the tank up you should be fine. Get them small though. I am feeling the ich to upgrade my tank to a 4' 150 partly because the fish and partly because I am addicted...
