i know its best to keep tangs in odd number groups.EX 3 yellow tangs instead of 2.
when keeping more than one yellow tang with 1 blue hippo in the same tank, how do u work this out?... do u go with 3 yellow tangs and then 1 blue hippo tang. so the yellows have 3 but u have 4 tangs all together? or can u go 2 yellow tangs with 1 blue hippo so then all together its an odd number? i dont know exactly how this works, thats why im looking to get some information on it. thats for your time in advance

I dunno, I've read not to mix tangs of same shape but I always see a ton of tangs in people's tanks. Good question.

it would be a Lee-Mar 150g 60x24x24 with sump. fish store would be building good enough filteration to do about 20% water change monthly. dont know if it can handle that many tangs with this fishlist that we're for sure getting.. if not enough room for the tangs... what do u suggest on getting for other tankmates?
other tank mates that we are getting hands down
1 female blue jaw trigger
1 blue line or valintini puffer
1 lemonpeel
2 percs
guy at the LFS said around 10 fish depending on size... but i think 4 tangs would be over pushing it in this case. am i right?

With a 5 foot tank (as opposed to a 6) I would agree that four tangs is pushing it. Tangs need length room to swim and cramming a bunch in a small space is not good. You could do it, but chances are that they'll be stressed.

4 tangs would deffinatly be pushing if, if you want to go with a couple tangs go with a yellow and a kole

I am not sure they have to be kept in odd numbers, I think you can have 1 or 3+ the trouble lies in having 2. I think, perhaps it could be a schooling mentality
