Tangs

Do Tangs "shed" their spikes? :notsure:

Not that I know of, but they could be bitten off I assume.

shed as in molt, no, i had a tang in a 50 gallon for 8 mo, then put him in my 80 gallon when i went salt water with that and never experienced this problem, you may have a bully on your hands

I read an article in Freshwater and Marine Aquarium Magazine awhile back that some collector's clip the spike on their tail to minimize the aggression in tanks with way too many tangs at once before shipping. Seems like a lot of work to me. Other than that, I am not aware of any shedding per say.

Maybe it was a Nasa Fish? You know, they like to feed on tang? Get it? Get it? Mwuahahahahahaha!

The responses were confusing!! I am asking if the Tang "molts" it's spikes!!! I think I got an answer, but not sure!!!

if they are using this to establish dominice against another fish how long will it last (the aggresion)
