Tangs

I have a yellow tang and just introduced another tang of a different color today. They are not happy with each other. They are about the same size but the yellow has been in the tank for 2months. Any suggestions to how long it will take for them to establish dominion and get on with living together? Thanks Sandra

Probably never. Yellow tangs a very territorial and the will defend it, because this tang eats the same food it does. What tang did you add? What size tank do you have? Do you have a QT tank?

They seem to be ok today! I have a 55 gal tank! The new tang is a scopas tang. Beautiful classy little creature ! I don't know what a QT tank is! Explain!

Since both the yellow and scopas have the same body shape they will fight. As they get bigger the size of your tank will cause more problems. QT is a quarantine tank for holding a fish to see if is healthy so it doesn't infect your healthy fish in your DT (display tank).
