Hi, I have been looking everywhere for paint for glass, craft stores have it but it comes in 2 ounce containers I would need about 14. If i put the shiny paper backdrops I would be afraid of the magnet scraper damaging it. Any help. Thanks Mike

i use a latex paint from a store called "pearl arts and crafts". it comes in a tube, and is like a paste(like toothpaste). i use a small roller to apply it to the outside of the tank. i do this on all my tanks, and am very pleased with the results.

I don't have it on my current tank, but on all of my previous tanks, I used a blue spraypaint with black and green flecks that looked really cool. It was something that I bought at hobby stores.

black canvas stretch and secured across top and bottom with velcro strips. Works great and can change anytime.

i used a shellac paint primer that i had tinted blue i paid 7 dollars for a quart that i did the back of my 135 and i have alot left. i sticks to glass very well in fact if u put it on in too thick of a coat it can crack the tank so i put 9 thin coats on mine. looks perfect.

the shellac will stick to the glass and actually chip the glass if it dries to quick. because the paint pulls or pushes the surface its stuck to. i painted mine and it is almost impossible to remove. a razor blade wont take it off. u have to use denatured alchohol.

i painted mine with an epoxy spray. it is real sticky at first then it dries real smooth. doesnt come off easy either.

Find a color you like, bring a sample into your local building supply store, and have them match it for you (make sure the sample is not shiney). Have them mix up a quart of exterior enamel. Use a foam roller and apply a very thin coat, let dry overnight, and recoat. use several thin coats until no light shine through. Note: aquarium lighting will slightly alter the color.
