As I was reading through some of the informational stickies regarding monitoring Ca, alk, pH, etc. I started thinking spreadsheet to record it over time. Then I thought, wait a minute, *lightbulb* I bet some reef geek has already come up with a great software program that already has all that stuff set up.
So can someone tell me the name of such a software program? It would be great if it worked on a PDA too! *while waiting for answer to this post, runs over to Palmgear to look*

Well, that wasn't hard. I found it on one keyword search at Palmgear.com. Anybody ever use Saltwater Aquarium Manager 1.5? Here's the description:
Application Description
Saltwater Aquarium Manager v1.5 is a PDA program for keeping track of your records pertaining to your saltwater aquarium. It was designed for keeping track of a marine reef tank, or fish-only saltwater aquariums. You can keep track of multiple aquariums, fish, invertebrates, water tests and maintenance tasks. Water quality tests include temperature, salinity, pH, ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, alkalinity and more. Finally, there is a Notes area for you to jot down any random notes that you want to keep with your other info. If you own a saltwater aquarium, Saltwater Aquarium Manager v1.5 is for you!
I'm such a gadget freak, just having a new program like this to fool around with on my PDA will make me a better aquarist!

I'm excited!
I just loaded it on my PDA and briefly looked through it. It seems easy to use. I entered the info for my tank. It asked for size, had check boxes for SW fish or SW reef, a place for date of set up, filter data, skimmer data, heater data, lighting data, powerheads data and other data.
Then I went to the livestock area and entered the data for my (one) lowly fish. It asked for which tank, how many, date acquired, common name and/or scient. name, max size, date died (hopefully won't need that for a while), diet, care level, req light, water flow, temperament, where purchased, ideal diet/supplements, and geographic location.
Tomorrow when I get to the office (where my tank is) I'll go through my stack of sticky notes with dates and various test results scribbled on them and enter them in. This should be a more efficient system.

Oh, and I glanced at the water test area and it shows expected levels, etc.
