tank chip

Hi accidently put a tiny chip in the bottom of my tank on the inside. I was wondering if anyone knows if I can repair this, like could I use one of those do it yourself windshield chip repairs, would that affect the water, toxicity, etc... or do I need to replace the entire piece of glass?
Thanks!

that is going to become a problem , the winshield repair would have to be toxin free , t he spot that is chipped , like a windshield will eventually shatter under pressure

:( yeah that's what I thought... It's extremely tiny though, like an 1/8 of a milimeter, but I thought the pressure might still affect it...

Is it a chip or a crack?
A chip (if small enough) may be harmless. A little silicon over it (or even a small piece of glass if it is on the bottom) could fix it.
A crack can and probably will spread.

It's a chip, really really tiny, buuut it is on the bottom and I thought the pressure from the water and live rock I want to add would cause it to crack. So silicone could fix it? What do you mean a small piece of glass? Like glue one over the area with some silicone or something?
Thanks!!!

Ok here are the best pics I could get of them, there are two little small ones, I put a penny next to it so you can tell the size a little. They're to the right of the penny. They're just on the very top surface of the glass. Yes I turned off the flash, I just couldn't get a very good clear pic. I don't have the best digital camera.

How big is the tank?
Once you fill it up, you're going to always wonder about those chips.... might be worthwhile to get a new tank.

Those look TINY . . . There are several ways to handle it.
1) Silicon a small piece of glass (probably 5" x 5") over the chip and try to keep rocks off of it.
2) Silicon only over the spot, but this could move after things rub on it.
3) Fill it up with water and test it. If it can hold water, odds are it will hold rock.

Thanks Stang. I think I will do the glass thing. My boyfriend thought putting either a piece of wood or styrofoam underneath the tank, btwn the tank and stand, b/c it's not flush, would also help alleviate some pressure on that area. Thanks for all the help everyone.
