Tank Cleaning and Maintenance

I've seen alot of information about water changes, but what about general cleaning. Many if not all of the photos I see on this and other sights haven't got a speck of algae on them, including coraline algae. I have tons of coraline algae on my 46 gallon bowfront. I also leave the back of the glass covered with algae. I guess this is just perference for me, but could this create a problem I'm not aware of?

Coraline algae is good. Most hobbyists just clean it off the front glass. Before they post pics you can rest assured that most clean their tank first

I don't touch the back glass of my tank. The algae that grows there is for grazing and my angels enjoy it. I remove the coralline from the sides and front every so often, and run a magfloat over these panels every couple days.

Right, I never touch my back glass. I let all kinds of algae grow there, whatever is present. I do clean the front more often then the sides though, with a mag.

Sounds like I'm right in line with the rest of you. I just never see any algae in the pics on these forums. Thanks much.

in more established tanks nuisance algae tends not to be as common, due to the expirience level of the tanks owner with that tank. newer tanks tend to be more prone to outbreaks of nuiscance algaes. same with newer hobbyests, they usually go through the ups and downs of algaes before finding the balance fof feeding, waterchanges clean up crew etc for their tank.
myself I only clean the front glass. the rest is as it grows.
