Tank Conversion

Just wondering, my son and I moved the contents of his 29 gal. over to his new 75 gal. His star polps have not come out yet in the new tank. Just wondering if this is normal or have we lost them. The tank has been up and running since 24 Dec. , all the contents from the 29 are now in the 75.

We transfered every thing live rock , sand , filters, fish and corals. Then had new salt water made to top the tank off. Had water tested yesterday everything checked out good.

Just a thought, you gutted a 29 and moved everything to a 70 some gallon system. The old sand was moved I guess? Was new / more rock and sand added to this new bigger system? If you did and then placed old inhabitants into a 3 or 4 day old system then you might expect trouble. The tank is going to cycle. You said water was tested and ok - what is ok?
Temp 79 - 81 F
pH - 8.3
NH3 - zero
NO3 - zero
NO2 - zero
Ca - 440 / 460
Alk - 170 / 190
SG - 1.023 / 1.024
And then check it now to see if any have moved since the set up.
Also my starburst and many zoo's will close when i frag or relocate them if handled with bare hands for 3 to 4 days before reopening.

my water tested out the following: PH:8.0, Nitrates:10, cacium:350, alkalinity:3, nitrites:eek:, and ammonia:0. In the 29 gal. tank I had crushed coral which we placed at the bottom of the 75 gal. tank, and put live sand on top of it, But other than that everything was transfered over from the 29 gal. tank.

use a buffer to raise your alk & pH slowly, get your calcium up at the same time, let the system stabilize then.
