tank crash

I have heard many people speak of their tank "crashing" please tell me what this is, sounds like death for all. Please let me know what this is and if it is preventable.

the short explain for that : when tank new and not stable and not build yet all the nutrition and bacteria and ppl add fish without control the system crash and it's syndrome of new tank, when the systen crash there is lose of animal to. establish tank it's take about 6 month runing and have good treatment and even at this point need to be control and monitor between adding live in .

Actually "crash" can mean the "death" of the tank, no matter the age. Some times this horrible event happens without any known reason. Frequently, it occurs due to hobbyist ignorance. Basically, something goes wrong, causing extremely poor, lethal deterioration of the water and everything in the tank starts to die.

I recently "crashed" my 220 tank by adding copper to a tank with what use to be 180lbs of LR. Copper kills live rock, ammonia spikes, you know the rest. Was a bad day in waterworld.

we had a tank crash when we switched from a 55 to a 90fowlr...yea the lr didnt make it and caused the tank to cycle...newbies
. and then a parasite
:mad: :mad: . first one was a mistake we didnt even know we were making and the second one happened so fast before we knew it, we had 0 fish
