tank cycled

I am a newby with a 55 gal sw tank. I had switched it from a fw to sw. I have cc in my tank and cycled it with damsels. I started out with 6 and ended up with one as of now. My tank has cycled with ammonia, nitrates, nitrites all at 0. My salinity is at a 1.22, my pH is at 8.3, I have an AC100 as my filtering system and have a protein skimmer. I have brown algae all over my cc and my sw ornaments. I didn't want to get live rock right away and decided to start with a fo tank. Any ideas on how I can get rid of the brown algae? It looks horrible :scared: . I was wondering also what kind of fish would help me with this problem. I don't want to scrub the walls of my tank as of yet, I was wondering if getting some snails will clean the glass. This tank has been running for about 5-6 weeks now. Here are few pics of my tank as of tonight.

I would get rid of the cc. It will be a trate problem down the road. Replace the orniments with lr and the brown algea will go away its normal after a cycle. If you would have used a piece of raw shrimp to cycle you would of saved 20 bucks and 5 fish.

After reading these message boards over the past month. I kept on hearing use ls or I wish I would have started with ls. I am beginning to wish that I did and it looks like I just wasted 6 weeks and killed 5 fish in the process. Well at least it was only 6 weeks and a yr or so.

Okay, another quick question. Would it be asinine to scoop out the cc and replace with ls with the water I have in there now?

could probably scoop it out. its really sad you killed 5 fish though to cycle your tank :( and you don't have nearly enough live rock in there so you're going to have to let any LR cure before adding more fish--you can't add LR to a tank with fish in it already. snails will eat the brown algae, as is my sally light foot right now, but if you put living organisms into your tank, the sand will get in their gills/lungs while it settles.

If its at all possible, try to get at least 1lb of Live Rock per gallon. I have a new 55 and I cycled it with 60lbs of premium fiji that I ordered online.
