Is there ever a time when you are just not happy with your tank? I think I have tank funk now. I am just not happy with the way it looks. Nothing seems to grow very good except GSP. And I have VHO lights, even the mushrooms look like crap. I dont know what to do. I am on the verge of taking it down and either selling it or giving it a big makeover. How do I get past this? Oh ya it is a beautiful tank, my husband custom made it for me. So this is 10x's worse.

My suggestion is that dont let go of the tank, in the future youll miss the saltwater hobby and returning to it will suck, because of all the work, I have seen this happen, but my suggestion is to get some cool inverts and look for some inverts or fish that really interest you. Like an eel or a puffer, or whichever.

No it is just one of 4.... And right now it is in the formal living room. I might just break it down and give it a new look

What kind of VHO do you have over it? Is this on the 165? If so, it isn't very old. I would give it at least a little more time to mature and grow to your likings. If you have a lot of light over it.......you may have to hide the mushrooms a little more so they open all the way up. Don't worry. The funk will ride itself out.

No they are over the 125. I have had this tank up for almost 2 years. I replaced the bulbs about 3 months ago. I am thinking I might have to take all of the rock out and restart it I dont know what the issue with it is. I have beautiful fish in this tank so I need to get over this. Soon, it would hurt his feelings if I sold it.

Iv'e had my mini reef for about 4 years now and was just going through the motions, not buying anything for it for over a year.
Just last month I bought 2 new fish and that seemed to respark my interest. Since I have bought 2 more fish and 4 new corals. Now I can't stop looking at it. So maybe something new my get rid of your funk!!!!!!
