Ideas of a bored teenager.... Well i poster this in the DIY and im just wondering what other people think of not putting all those power heads and what not if you can put the jets in teh right place. For instance have four heads all at diffrent levels in teh tank? Would it work all you veterans? Heres my Sketch...Can you tell i wanna be an architect?

Depends on what you want to keep in your tank. FOWLR should work great. If you want to go reef, you may have a water flow issue. You want to create a current in your tank and it is very hard to create one with only one water source. If you got a rotating return and a spray bar you might be able to get away with it but it all depends on what your LR looks like.

Ok after thinking about it more i came to the conclusion the flow can be in one direction am i right? So then i would need the intake and outtake on oposite ends. Im only just starting with saltwater so im sure it will be a FOWLRLS. I still need to grasp teh concept of te refungeum and sump. But the new diagram looks more efficient. Can you guys comment on any modifications or errors i made? Thanx again.

One comment is the location of your "outlet". You want that to skim the top of the water...fish waste is lighter than salt so it floats.
What size tank are you looking at getting?

See that is the type of feedback that i need. Im thinking about 75 gallons maybe teh 90 but i want custom dimensions i just have to get te right price. Hopefully i will beable to build my own stand and top with oak out of mostly crown molding to give it a flare. I saw a pretty neat ideal on how to hide the outlets as much as possible and that is to put a piece of wood on the corners and pretty much keep two faces to view thru. Front and back.
I get pretty bored at 5 in teh morning. Take a look at what i did on paint.

You see ive never desighned a reef tank and am worried about stuff working right. Ok basically it will be 4 sidded tank with only the front and the back viewable. So on teh ends i can extend a piece of wood to cover a small percent of front tank. and then i could hide the overflows on both ends and also i guess only the outlets on the ends two.

I see what you are saying. Are you planning on putting the tank in the middle of a room or something...where you would be able to see both front and back? Keep in mind you are going to have a bunch of cords and such running from the tank.

Um thats my goal.> I did think about the cords and i figured i would put the tank on hardwood or tile so i would raise it on casters and come in underneath.

Just like you would any other stand. every piece is seperate so that everything can be moved and added.

You definately do not want your tank getting any sunlight. Sunlight promotes algae growth and can quickly overcome a tank.

well i would make your sump a refugium larger. Im not sure if that was suposed to be to scale or not....
but i would make something to the side for a refugium. Maybe it will extend out to the side and you can give it less flow. Because that would be a heck of a lot of flow to pass through a refugium. The macro algae in there would not be able to absorb anything quick enough.
