Definitely.
Regulation -when surrounded by college idiots (often innebriated)- is key.
I used to have to deal with friends trying to remove my purple lobster from the 3 gallon pico I had it in (temporarily) so they could perform a tolerance test by seeing how much it hurt for the lobster to pinch them. Often times it was funny, but for the most part, I felt bad for the poor guy (even if he WAS in the 3 gallon tank to begin with since he was eating the fish in my 30 gallon).

this is my 3rd year of having my 90 at college. i started it up my first year i moved out of the dorms. even if your dorm allows tanks, it would impossible to keep, imo.

yep. you should have seen us moving it out of my first apartment in the basement. 90 gal tank, 80lbs of sand still in it, and about 10 gallons of water. i used to think i was strong.
the next move requires no flights of stairs...hopefully.

well I have had my tank for almost a year now and I'm going away in the fall to SIU (southern illinois university). Thats 4 1/2 hours away & im driving. (taking my car with me)
I'm going down there in a couple of weeks to look at off campus apartments with my best friend who is also going there in the fall w/ me. I'm still confused and wondering what im going to do about my pets. I have a 5month old kitten, and a 55gal reef tank with $350+- a few worth of corals, 50lbs of LR and 30lbs of LS and $200 in fish/verts. my dad & mom love my tank & cat but i love them more & if i find a place that allows it, i for sure will be taking my cat with me, but not sure what im going to do about my tank. im thinking im gunna buy a 30-45gal tank and move all my livestock with LR that only has corals on it with me in 2-5gal buckets w/ lids & keep the tank at home running but nothing really 'alive' in it and ill just have my dad do water changes every month and just do top offs and a little ghost feeding so when i go back for winter break i can bring my coral & fish & cat back with me lol. I probably sound crazy but oh well!

second im in college and i have a 55 and am about to upgrade to my 90 i broke down and im in college, it is alot harder, i have deffinitly let the tank go, i up graded my lights and had an algae outbreak and never got it nipped in the butt and college takes so much of your time
it can be done but its hard and you gotta stay dedicated to waterchanges

I live in the dorms and have a 16g bowfront. However, my dorms are open year round during all breaks so that makes it easier, plus my college is in my hometown. I love having a tank to work on. It helps with the stress! Some dorms won't allow them, and if they do be sure to check size restrictions. Ours is 20g, but you could probably get away with a 24g NC or so.

Just get a nice little frag tank so you do not have to worry when you move home for summers and so with dealing with LR and LS then you just move the corals tank and water plus if you are living in a dorm get the biggest light you can find you are paying enough for college make them pay for an outrageous light bill
