i have a 29 g tank with one of those eclipse hood, i put in 40 lb of crushed coral and about 7 lb of lr and 11lb of base r, what i want to know if i add like shrimp or live plants does this does these count towards the number the fish can occupy my tank. also has any one change out the lighting in these to a better source for like coral.

Hi and welcome to the board!!
Shrimp and other cleaners don't count as much in your calculations. They produce a bioload but it isn't significant at all.
You would need to replace the entire lighting unit in order to house corals.

i am new with 29 gallon also. bought the crushed coral before reading this board. you may want to search crushed coral before you get too far along. most people on this board strongly recommend against it. i removed mine and went with live sand.
