Tank size question - future plans

I am considering tank consolidation plans to downsize from multiple saltwater tanks into my favorite species tank.
I currently have a 75g (48x18x21) Salt, a 240g (96x24x24) Salt, and a 180g (72x24x24) Fresh tanks.
I'd like to consolidate my Saltwater tanks into something more manageable that doesn't require making 75+ gallons of water every month. And slimming down to only 1 Saltwater tank and 1 Freshwater tank.
From my experience with a variety of Saltwater species I'm consider building a tank that only houses my show/favorite species (if this is possible).
Planned species:
1 - Dragon Moray eel
1 - Large Angel (Either Queen or Emperor)
? - Variety of small species (Damsels & Chromis & maybe even Clowns)
(# of these will depend on tank size)
Here are some options I'm looking at...what would fit best.
150g Wide - 60x24x25
180g - 72x24x24
250g Deep - 60x36x27
Would the 150g be enough?
And if a 180g is required, should I add 1 more large fish?
Maybe a large Tang (Naso, Clown, Sohal)
Any thoughts on this plan? Suggestions?

95 I would go with the 250 deep heck I am getting a 280 next year or the year after that at the latest since I got the wife to give me a 6 foot X30in wide space along the wall space I can have for MY dream tank. That will be a sweet set up when she is done also I am praying. With the 250 you could have a trigger also.

Downsize??? I don't like the sound of that!!
I would go with the 180 gallon. It's a nice size tank with 6 ft of length. Good for most fish.
The biggest problem with the 250 is that it's 36" wide. It will be a huge PITA to keep clean. Take my word for this... you're talking ladders, extra long scrapers and still a grueling job of keeping it nice. JMO.

Good to know, thanks.

So if a 150g is just too small, then a 180g would be good and would be a nice match pair with my 180g fresh.
Now, would you add another large fish? Only 1 if so and what would it be?

If it were me, I'd go with something striking like a large clown tang, (if you can find a healthy one) or a medium size clown trigger. Or if you just want some complimentary fish to add color, you could go with a pair of yellow tangs.

Wow, just found this old post. A year later and first steps have started....
I am currently selling all my livestock from my 240g and will be setting it back up as a Reef under 16 Ice Cap HO T5's.
I plan on:
Various Soft corals, snails, crabs, cleaner shrimp
Dragon Moray
3-4 doz Chromis / Damsel Shoals
and a Clown Tang
Strange how we get an idea in our head and a year later here we are.
I'll update with pics in upcoming months.

Same here my plans changed moved out of that house I was in and can get a 8 foot tank. Now do I get the 300 or the 375 or really go wild and get the 450.

oonly tank that is compatible with the angels is the 180g, they need ATLEAST 6ft lateral swimming space, and IMO the 6ft long are nicer.
the volume difference isnt really much of an issue, but the lateral space for the angel is a matter, and the 24" deep and width is fine for the eel.
and i'd go for anything between 15-30 damsels/chromis or w/e?
and a sohal would keep the eel in shape, there nasty things, look awesome too!

and the sohal tang is from the same family as the clown tang, there characteristics are exactly the same, meanest tang you can buy, perfect to go with the angel and the eel.
but IMO the sohal looks nicer, but is more expensive
