Wow the tank temp was very high this am when i went in to look at it. There were no lights
on and no heaters at all. I did notice the
skimmer did not seem to be running at full capacity as far as water flow inlet side.
The onl thing i can figure is the intake on the skimmer pump had debris right before the
impeller and was causing a restriction and reducing the flow through the pump and causing heat build up in that water area and
sending it on through the tank,... is this possible?
I did have a problem recently with hermits getting past the overflow and media and winding up in the inlet side of the pump and id did of course restrict the pump noticed in the skimmer and when cleaned out it picked back up.
The only other source for heat would be the Little Giant pump that circulates the water it's a 5.5 and does cause a lot of heat, so hot that you can't even hold your hand to it.(Little Giant says that is normal)
And also i have 2 rio 3100 mixing the water around inside the tank,.. but all these item have been running with this setup for many weeks,.....
Is the inlet restriction a possibility ?
